The IET works with a variety of organisations to provide funding to support STEM projects, activities and CPD opportunities.

Engineering Education Grant Scheme

The IET and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) collaborate to provide the Engineering Education Grant Scheme (EEGS).

The scheme aims to engage young people aged 5 to 19 in learning about engineering and to develop the professional skills of those involved in supporting STEM learning and careers awareness. The EEGS also supports projects that improve wider engineering literacy.

Any organisation capable of developing and delivering UK-based educational activities is eligible to apply, including schools, IET or IMechE members and STEM organisations. We are particularly keen to receive applications for projects from teams with diverse expertise, a range of skills and from a variety of sectors.

School Grant Scheme

The scheme provides grants of up to £600 for projects or events linked to the teaching or promotion of physics and engineering in schools and colleges based in the UK, catering for students in the age range 5 to 19.

Enthuse bursaries

Supporting teacher CPD, ENTHUSE bursaries are provided by Project ENTHUSE which is a unique partnership of government, charities and employers that have come together to bring about inspired STEM teaching through the professional development of teachers, technicians and support staff across the UK.
