Engineering Education Grant Scheme
The Engineering Education Grant Scheme (EEGS) supports UK-based educational projects that nurture and support the increase of engineering knowledge among young peoples between the ages of five to 19. The scheme also supports projects that improve wider engineering literacy.
The IET and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) have merged their educational grant schemes to make an even bigger impact. The merger is a great example of the strength of partnerships, and has resulted in an enhanced experience for applicants, starting with a streamlined application process.
How much is the grant?
There are two levels of funding available. Awards of up to £5000 (inclusive of any applicable VAT) are available for standard applications to the fund, and a small number of awards of up to £15,000 are available each year for projects that aim to make a bigger impact.
Who can apply?
Any organisation that delivers UK-based educational activities, including schools, IET or IMechE members and STEM organisations. Organisations that are directly funded by the IET or IMechE may not be eligible, and there are a few things the scheme can’t cover. For a full list of excluded activities please download and read the Engineering Education Grant Scheme guidance.
To increase your chances of success your application should demonstrate diverse expertise, a range of skills from a variety of sectors. All projects must involve IET or IMechE members. You can read all about past successful projects here:
