Arkwright Engineering Scholarships

Students who are going to be studying for an AS/A2, IB or Higher/Advanced Higher level in STEM subjects at a school which is affiliated with Arkwright may apply for a scholarship. Funded by industry, academia, professional institutions (including the IET) and private donations, 400 Arkwright Engineering Scholarships are awarded each year. Each Scholarship provides £300 for the student and £200 for the school per year for the two years of their course.

 


 

Association of Science Education (ASE)

STEM Insight: Insight into Industry

Insight into Industry is a joint initiative between industry, the IET, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Project ENTHUSE and the National Science Learning Centre, amongst others. It gives science, mathematics, design and technology and computing teachers an authentic, one or two week experience of what takes place in modern engineering and manufacturing organisations.

 


 

Teach First

Teach First aims to end educational inequality. It finds, trains and supports new teachers to work in low income communities, developing these new teachers to become leaders in schools and to inspire the children toward the future they want.

 


The Big Bang Fair

The Big Bang Fair is the largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths for young people in the UK. The Big Bang UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair is an award-winning combination of exciting theatre shows, interactive workshops and exhibits, together with careers information for school groups and families, provided by a wide range of people who are working in the field.
